BRANDEMIC: HERE'S WHAT YOU MISSED
Last week, Black*Press launched the first-ever BRANDEMIC: Creative Solutions for Brand Recovery in partnership with DTI-7. This free 2-day live online event, powered by 22 Tango Mango Group, featured talks by business experts, marketing professionals, creative practitioners and representatives from the government. Our speakers shared strategies, tools, platforms and services to help individuals and companies navigate through the new online marketplace. Another goal of Brandemic was to highlight the role of creatives and how creative solutions can help brands stand out.
Brandemic kicked off Day 1 with Kurt Ebarita, a Content Manager at INCA, GroupM's Market-leading solution for managing influencer content and publisher amplification campaigns. Kurt shared his expertise in social media and digital strategy with his talk “How To Stand Out in Social Media”. He shared popular online trends during the pandemic including the latest craze in food products, changes in social media habits and how to maximize these information for your brand. Next up was Stephanie Tudtud, a co-founder & creative director of White Brick Creative Studio, a Cebu-based visual communication studio that develops strategies to move brands and products through design, art + copy, and content production. Her talk, “Creating the Right Content Mix for Social Media”, covered the different kinds of social media content including short form and long form videos, static posts (both single photo and multiple static), stories on Instagram and Facebook highlights and finally, Facebook and Instagram Live posts.
The event was proud to have two international guest speakers from Singapore and New York starting with Rajesh Patil, the Head of Territory & Channel Sales of Adobe Southeast Asia. Rajesh focused on helping content creators and knowledge workers by sharing Adobe’s line of software and easy-to-use mobile applications that can help businesses and designers create dynamic visual content. To cap off Day 1, our final speaker Angelo from Wix in New York works as an Account Executive for Agency Partnership Sales at wix.com. Angelo talked about why it’s important for brands to have their own website, and how easy it is for businesses to make one.
Day 2 started off with Cattski Espina, Music Producer, Singer, Songwriter and founder of independent music company 22 Tango Music Group. Cattski talked about Sound Branding and how sound and music can reinforce your brand identity. She also shared insights on how to organize online events. The second speaker, JP Chiongbian, President of Sugbo Mercado Food Markets Group and Creator of Let's Eat Bai® (LEB) online food community talked about building online communities and the opportunities for small online businesses to market their products. They recently launched the LEB app, Cebu's first food-based food and delivery app which aims to support grassroots entrepreneurs and guiding them to achieve their dreams.
After a short break, our second to the last speaker Ms Nannette Arbon, Assistant Regional Director of the Department of Trade and Industry Region VII shared some of the government's initiatives to assist MSMEs during this time. She mentioned convenient ways for entrepreneurs to register their businesses. Finally, to close off the event, we listened to Michael Villacarlos, founder and head of operations at Bike Messenger 6000, a bicycle delivery and "pabili" service provider in Cebu City. Mic talked about managing small startup during the pandemic and how his hobby of biking and passion for creating lesser carbon footprint led to this affordable and environment-friendly logistics option for local businesses.
